Cut It Off...
Last week, as I stepped out on our wooden deck, I felt a sharp pain. I looked at my foot, but I couldn't see anything wrong.
I looked more closely, and there in my foot was the teeniest of slivers. I was shocked that something so small could hurt so badly. I couldn't get it out; I had to walk around with pain all day.
Me and my sliver. I named him Ted.
Slivers are just like sin. There will always be pain when we allow sin to enter even the smallest area of our lives. Yet, we can hobble around with it, trying to act like things are normal. "No one needs to know," we tell ourselves.
God knows.
Sin corrupts the mind and separates us from God.
Sin can only be healed by the blood of Jesus. Only when we accept the grace that Christ offers us will our sins will be washed away.
You may stumble sometimes. But remember that Christ died, not so that you could live in bondage and shame, but so that you could be free. So gather up your sin and lay it at Jesus' feet.
His grace is enough. Always.
I would love to hear your thoughts! Are there any areas of sin or shame that you need to give to Christ?
